We focus on three legal routes: Residency Services, Free Zone and Veterans' Services. Assessing eligibility, preparing documents, registering the order, following up on customs clearance and delivering the car are all part of our work.

Import routes
Saramand works on three legal routes: importing with overseas residency, importing through the free zones and importing with the veterans' quota. Each route has different eligibility, customs benefits and plate type. See the full comparison on the Our Services page.
On our services page, the “Which route suits me?” section points you to the right route with one simple question. For a definite answer, your documents and circumstances are reviewed in the free consultation.
Each import case is registered under one route, and quotas can't be combined. But if you meet more than one set of conditions, we can compare which route is cheaper and quicker for the car you want and register the case on that basis.
There are other options that can be reviewed depending on your situation, but some of them don't make sense in terms of cost or time. In the free consultation we'll tell you honestly which options are practical for you and which aren't.
Residency Services
Holding valid, continuous residency abroad, in line with customs regulations and the current year's directive. See the details of eligibility, documents and steps on the Residency Services page.
Most of the administrative steps can be done without you, under an official power of attorney. Some steps, such as signing the undertaking or the final handover, may require your presence or a specific power of attorney; this is clarified for your case in the first consultation.
Free Zone
The country's seven active free trade-industrial zones: Kish, Qeshm, Chabahar, Arvand, Anzali, Aras and Maku. See an introduction to each zone on the Free Zone page.
It depends on the zone: cars from some zones may only be driven inside that zone, while for others driving in the province or neighbouring provinces is permitted. Wider driving permits are usually temporary; before you buy, we check the latest status of your zone.
Only for cars covered by the plate-conversion resolutions, and after paying the set duties and import charges. Eligibility and the amount of duty change with new resolutions and should be factored in from the start when choosing a route.
Veterans' Services
Veterans with a disability of 50% or more, certified by the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation. The car value cap is €25,000 to €35,000 depending on the category, and import duty in 1405 (2026) is 4%. These rules are reviewed every year. The Veterans' Services page.
The veteran ID card issued by the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, the Foundation's official referral letter for using the import quota, national ID card and birth certificate, and, if Saramand carries out the steps, an official power of attorney.
Cost, timing and contract
They are quoted after reviewing your case, based on the scope of work, and written clearly into the contract. No charge outside the contract or without your prior knowledge is ever taken.
It depends on the route, the car and government office timelines. In typical residency-route cases, about three to six months from consultation to plates. The most variable part is securing foreign currency and registering the order.
No. The prices, the cost estimator and the figures on the site are to help you understand the cost structure, and depend on the exchange rate, current directives and each case's circumstances. The final figure is given only after an official quote, in the contract.
Cars
Both. The choice is yours, but the list of options is provided after setting the currency cap and checking the standards rules, so your time isn't spent on cars that can't be imported. You can also browse the list of available cars.
On the Compare Cars page you can see the technical specs of several cars side by side.
A car imported with an exemption or quota can't be transferred to anyone else until the end of the legal period set in the undertaking. This period is set in the directives and may change; talk to us before making any plans to sell.
